EXHIBITION STANDS – A COMPREHENSIVE MANUAL

EXHIBITION STANDS – A COMPREHENSIVE MANUAL

It’s vital to review the specific event manual to learn the rules and regulations before installing your exhibition display to evade any unforeseen issues. Regulations can differ, even within the convention centre or event halls, depending on the circumstances. It’s a good idea to get in touch with the event management if you have any questions about the exhibition rules. In general, there are four main types of exhibition stand displays to choose from, depending on your goals: Linear, Perimeter, Peninsula, and Island.

Linear Stands

Often called ‘in-line’ stands, linear setups are typically arranged in a straight line. Your neighbours will be on your immediate left and right, leaving just one side exposed to the aisle. You can modify this to a corner stand for exposure on two sides, but hanging signs are usually a no-go in this setup. Linear stands are typically 10x10 feet (around 3.05x3.05 meters) with a maximum height of 8 feet, extending up to 5 feet from the front aisle on the sidewall. Keep it within these limits and make the most of your space.

Perimeter Stands

A perimeter stand is basically like a linear stand with a cool twist – it backs up against an outside wall of the exhibition facility rather than being sandwiched between other exhibits. These stands usually max out at a height of 12 feet, but that height can be maintained up to 5 feet from the front aisle. For the remaining section of the sidewall, you’ve got to keep it under 4 feet. Oh, and just a heads-up, hanging signs are usually a no-no in this setup. So, remember the rules before taking the plunge!

Peninsula Stands

A peninsula stand is like the star of the show, open on three sides and typically made up of at least four stands. There are two types: one next to linear stands and the other next to another peninsula stand, known as a “split island stand”. Just remember, the back wall can’t have logos or ads. If you’re next to linear stands, the back wall can’t go over 4 feet for 5 feet from both side aisles, but it can reach 16 to 20 feet high in the centre for a 10-foot stretch. For split island stands, it’s a steady 16 to 20 feet high throughout. Stay within these limits while installing your exhibition stand display.

Island Stands

If your exhibition display is wide open on all four sides, you’re rocking an island stand. These exhibition displays are usually 20 feet by 20 feet or even larger. You’ve got the green light to use the entire space up to the maximum height allowed, which can go from 16 to 20 feet, depending on the scene, and that includes all your flashy signs. And guess what? Hanging signs are totally allowed above all island stands. So, go ahead and let your creativity run wild – the sky’s the limit!

Addition Factors

We Offer Comprehensiveness

Multi-story stand displays might be an option, depending on the venue’s rules, which means your exhibition display could have two or more levels.

Canopies, whether they’re for style or function, need to meet line-of-sight rules at your venue.

Most exhibitions give the green light to hanging signs and graphics for peninsula and island stands, but they’ve got to play by the standard space rules and usually need permission in advance.

When it comes to lighting, remember that no fixtures, trusses, or overhead lighting can creep beyond your exhibit space boundaries.

All lighting must be directed inward towards your stand area, not outward. Any potentially hazardous lighting needs prior approval from exhibition management, and fire safety rules always apply.
